Arnold's Family, Helga's Family, Gerald's Family, Phoebe's Family, and Other Families.

Arnold's Family:

Phil and Gertie - Read about Arnold's grandparents in the Sunset Arms section.

Arnold's Parents - Arnold's parents were a doctor (his dad) and archeologist (his mom) who met when Arnold's father accidentally stumbled onto a place where his mom was doing a dig. They continued to travel around the globe, but settled down when their son was born. They eventually had to leave on a mission to send medicine to a remote area, and were not heard from after that.

Arnie - Arnold's 'Weird Cousin', Arnie is like a bizarro version of Arnold. Though he somewhat resembles his cousin, Arnie's personality is very different. He has an odd range of hobbies which include reading ingredient labels and gum. Most of the kids seem to be creeped out by him, but Lila develops a crush on him, to the frustration of Arnold.

Mitzi - Arnold's great aunt is the twin sister of Phil. Though the two were not on speaking terms for years after a beloved pet dog died, Arnold was able to reconcile them.

Helga's Family:

Big Bob Pataki - The 'Beeper King', Big Bob is obsessed with winning and running a successful beeper empire. Big Bob is often bullying and rude to those around him, so it is not surprising that Helga often acts the same way. He lavishes praise on his award winning older daughter, Olga, while seeming to ignore Helga. However, there are times when he realizes his shortcomings, and he is able to be a good father when he takes the trouble.

Miriam Pataki - Miriam is a stay-at-home mom, but it is obvious that her job has left her unfulfilled. She often doesn't pay attention to her work, and spends much of her time moping around or making smoothies. However, hidden underneath Miriam's exterior is a range of talents; she is able to successfully run the beeper empire when Bob is unable to, and she was a talented swimmer and bull-rider before getting married.

Olga - Helga's college-age sister, Olga is seemingly perfect, getting straight A's at college and acting as the perfect daughter. Her many awards decorate the Pataki home, and she seems to get all of her parents attention. However, Olga often resents her parents' attention as well as the pressure she's put under, frustrated that she always has to 'perform' for her parents' approval. Olga tends to get overemotional when things don't go absolutely perfectly; when she thought she got a 'B+', she was in a depressive stupor for days.

Gerald's Family:

Martin Johanssen - Gerald's father is overwhelmingly concerned with efficiency; he berates his family members when they don't conserve energy and thereby drive up the electric bill. He served in the Vietnam War as a bureaucrat.

Mrs. Johanssen - Mrs. Johanssen works at the local supermarket.

Timberly - Gerald's little sister, Timberly looks up to her brother and wants to spend time with him, much to Gerald's annoyance. Timberly often messes things up, but is cute enough that she doesn't get in trouble for it.

Jamie O - Jamie O is Gerald's bossy and athletic older brother.

Phoebe's Family:

Kyo Hyerdahl - Phoebe's father and fencing partner, Kyo helps to nurture his daughter's intelligence. His background is Japanese.

Reba Hyerdahl - Reba is from Kentucky. Like her husband, she greatly admires Phoebe and is supportive of her.

Other Families:

Jerry and Marilyn Berman - Harold's parents.

Harold's Aunt - Harold's aunt only makes one appearance, in the episode "Snow"; she yells at Harold not to throw snowballs at city buses. - Scott

Nate Horowitz - Nate is Eugene's father. Like his son, he is very clumsy, and always says, "I'm okay" and "He's okay." His only major appearance so far has been in "Fishing Trip." - Scott

Iggy's Mom - Iggy's mother is shown briefly when Arnold goes to Iggy's house to give him his homework in "Arnold Betrays Iggy." - Scott

Lila's Father - ...Well, he's Lila's father. Lila's dad was unemployed for some time, making things very difficult for him and his daughter.

Brooke and Buckley Lloyd - Rhonda's parents.

Lorenzo's Mother - Lorenzo's mother is very over-protective of her son and was upset when he got off schedule and missed his appointments. - Scott

Maria's Father - Maria's father appeared in the episode "6th Grade Girls." He thought Arnold and Gerald were too short to be in the 6th grade. - Scott

Nadine's parents- Nadine's parents appeared in "Parents' Day" and "Stinky's Pumpkin." Nadine's father is Caucasian and her mother is African-American. - Scott

Mr. Petersen - Mr. Petersen is Stinky's father. His drawl and demeanor are reminiscent of his son's.

Grandpa and Grandma Petersen - Stinky's grandparents appeared briefly in "Stinky's Pumpkin." They look just like Stinky! - Scott

Sheena's Uncle Earl and Aunt Shelley - Sheena's uncle takes passengers to Elk Island, while her aunt is the school nurse.

Mr. and Mrs. Smith - Patty's parents love their daughter with all their hearts and wanted her to go to "Polishing School" so she would learn some manners. - Scott

Uncle Stinky - Stinky's uncle appeared briefly in the episode"Stinky's Pumpkin". He likes sitting on the porch with Stinky's father. - Scott
