Yo Mr. Simmons,
Why do you always say everyone is
unique in their own special ways? Second, why did you give Arnold a detention
once when he threw paint at Helga? She started it.
- Just
Wondering
Dear Wondering,
Why, hello there! Thank you
very much for your special questions. To answer your first one, I truly believe
that all people have their own unique talents and interests, and, as a teacher,
it is important for me to stress this for my students. I don't want them to feel
that they have to conform to any standard, and would rather see them develop the
qualities that make them stand out. As for your second question, from what I saw
of the fight, it looked like Arnold had been the one to start things, so I gave
him detention. Stay special!
- Mr. Simmons
Arnold,
I have a question: how would you react if you
found out that Helga had a crush on you? What would you say to her?
-
Suzy
Suzy,
I don't know; I suppose I would react
the same way I would if any girl said she liked me. I would be very flattered,
but I think I would ask her to give me some time to think about it. Why are you
asking about Helga in particular? I can understand Lila, or even Rhonda, Nadine,
or Sheena, but Helga? She seems like the last girl who would have a crush on me,
unless you think that picking on someone and calling them names is
romantic.
- Arnold
Wolfgang,
Why do you always have to pick on Arnold
and his friends all the time? Why do you have to be such a bully?
-
Wants to Find Out
Dear Wants a Black Eye,
Dude... do you want
to be seriously pounded? If you don't, back off, okay? Those dorks are always
getting in my way, and they need to learn to obey the older kids, especially
that weird-headed one. If they didn't step out of line, maybe they wouldn't get
picked on as much.
- Wolfgang
Mr. Smith,
Why did you move out of the boarding
house? Also, why are you so private and shy? Please, let me know!
-
Scott
Scott,
We regret to inform you that Mr.
Smith cannot be reached at this time. Please do not send any further
letters.
- Lt. Seymour Kirshbaum
Arnold,
I was just wondering... what are your grades
in school? And also, why do you have "Never-Ending Good Advice"? Your friends
get sick of it.
- Bored
Dear Bored,
Well, my grades are pretty
good, but they're not as impressive as Phoebe's. Regarding your second question,
I give advice to my friends because I want to help them do the right thing, even
if they don't always listen to what I have to say.
-
Arnold
Iggy,
Do you still wear your bunny pajamas? Do you
still have a reputation as being cool? Don't be ashamed, I wear them
too!
- Inquiring Mind
Inquiring,
Of course I'm still cool, was
there any doubt in your mind? And I don't know what you're talking about with
the bunny pajamas.
- Iggy
Helga,
If you had a crush on a guy (say, Arnold),
would you tell him? Why or why not?
- Inquisitive
Inquisitive,
What is it with you people? Do
you have some sort of obsession with me and crushes? Do you think that I, Helga
G. Pataki, could actually develop a crush on a footballhead like Arnold? That I
could spend my every waking hour thinking of him and trying desperately to worm
my way into his heart? Is that what you're trying to say? Um... this letter was
never written. Got that?
- Helga
Phoebe,
...I was wondering, there's a guy I like at
my school, and I wanted to know... are cooties real? Does Gerald get cooties
from constantly holding hands with you?
- Curious
Curious,
Despite the credence that cooties
are given on many playgrounds, scientifically speaking, they do not actually
exist. Therefore, nobody could get cooties from holding hands. I'm not quite
certain what you mean by Gerald 'constantly' holding hands with me, though;
though Gerald is a wonderful person, I haven't gotten the chance to hold hands
with him that much.
- Phoebe
Dear Arnold,
Hi! How are you doing? I'm a little
under the weather, thanks for asking! I watch your show as often as possible,
and it's a great show; I love it! I just have one question: Do you like comic
books, and, if yes, what kind of comic books? Thanks for your time! I'll talk to
you later! Keep up the good work!
- ComicMan16
Hi ComicMan,
I'm doing alright; I'm sorry
to hear that you're not feeling that well, though. I'm not quite sure what you
mean by 'my show', but I'm glad that you like it. I like reading comic books;
when we have the chance, Gerald and I read some of our favorite comics. We like
a lot of different comics, especially those with superheroes and detectives. We
even have a bunch of old comics that my grandpa and his dad gave to us, and it's
fun to take a look at them.
